Types of beer
Within the walls of the Trappist abbey of Westmalle, three types of beer are produced:
The Tripel, Dubbel and Extra, you can find these beers in catering establishments, large distribution chains, specialized shops and beer traders in Belgium and the Netherlands. And in several selected places around the world.
These Trappist beers are brewed according to a long tradition with only natural ingredients: pure water, barley malt, real hop cones, the best sugar and home-grown yeast. These three varieties are 100% pure and natural beers.
The Tripel, Dubbel and Extra from Westmalle are living quality beers with a constant evolution in taste. That is why no two glasses are completely identical. The taste mainly depends on the age, the way of storage, the pouring and the serving temperature.
